Bill Harris, ASLA
Bill Harris is a licensed landscape architect with over 35 years of experience in public and private planning and design. Throughout his career, he has focused on projects that emphasize community development and improvement. Bill has served as principal-in-charge of complex public works projects with construction budgets of up to $15 million. Several projects completed under his direction have received design awards. Bill is a creative yet pragmatic designer of achievable solutions and an effective manager of project scope to conform to established budgets. Specific interests include civic facilities, schools, parks, trails, streetscapes, green infrastructure, and transportation improvements.
Bill excels in the facilitation of community consensus for often times controversial projects. Many of his projects have involved complex stakeholder issues that were successfully resolved through a variety of public involvement forums. Bill’s expertise in environmental resources and regulatory agency permitting has been instrumental in successfully designing public access facilities in sensitive environmental settings.
Joya is a landscape architecture graduate with a passion for sustainable design and exploring the relationship between people and environment. She is expert in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp and other 3-D programs, and has used these skills to prepare quality design documents and planning reports for many projects, including public parks, urban waterfronts, campus landscapes, and residential and retail developments. Her versatility, strong work ethic, organization, and time management skills make her a valuable member of the Harris Design team. She is a fast learner and enjoys contributing to all phases of project development.
