Harris Design has concluded its operations, and is no longer accepting new commissions. Principal Bill Harris has relocated to his native Midwest, where he is now enjoying his third act in life.

Harris Design was established in 2001 based on the belief that connection with the environment is fundamental to a happy, healthy life. As designers of the physical environment, our work centered on engendering meaningful relationships between people, their natural environment, and the larger community. These connections can be fostered in a variety of settings, whether urban, rural, or wild. Much of Harris Design's work was devoted to the improvement of public spaces that can be experienced by any who choose to use and explore them.

Harris Design provided a full range of professional services including master planning, preliminary design, construction documentation, cost estimating, construction administration, regulatory agency processing, public participation facilitation, funding assistance, and post-project evaluation. Our project teams included architects, engineers, recreation planners, surveyors, public finance economists, biologists, and public opinion researchers. Acting as the prime consultant and design team leader, Harris Design facilitated the close coordination of all design efforts. Our capabilities include the following:
